FAMILY CONSTELLATIONS IN ONE ON ONE SESSIONS
In many situations you are part of a system such as your family, your work environment, or a sport club. Doing a constellation will show you literally the relationship between the system’s members, alliances and likely causes of possible problems within the system. Constellations make the invisible visible and can be a very good tool during sessions. |
You in a greater context
In many situations in daily life you are part of a system such as your family, your work environment, a sport club, etc. There is always an unwritten order, structure and a kind of balance within every system. If the system is out of balance in a way it can result in certain behaviour and unexplainable feelings with some, if not all, members of the system.
You and family (systemic) constellations
The roots of your problem might find it's origin in a particular system you are part of. If you are not aware of this it is hard(er) for you, if not impossible, to really get rid off the problem. You might be able to change your behaviour or even thoughts but the ties the system has with you, will keep pulling you towards certain feelings and behaviour and you might be fighting an uphill battle. Doing a constellation in this case could be a quick and efficient solution.
How does it work?
During the sessions of COACHplus (family) constellations can be used under certain conditions. A constellation shows you as part of something bigger; a system in which there might be problems. When we do a (family) constellation by using objects, usually manikins, it becomes quickly evident how the members relate to each other and in which way they, including you, are all connected to the system. You can get an insight in how ‘it works’ in your family, the dynamics with regards to your problem. It can be quite an experience to see the (family) system in front of you. By showing the dynamics between the members, the invisible is made visible so to speak. Constellations can show in a short time what during ‘normal’ coaching sessions will not or with great difficulty surface.
Examples of questions in which a constellation can give clarity
I don’t feel free to be who I am.
It feels as if a burden is resting on my shoulders.
It feel I don’t belong anywhere.
I don’t feel at home anywhere
I don't seem to be able to use my talents.
I feel out of place.
Why do I always need to take care of others?
The list is endless.
Other possibilities
Under certain conditions virtually everything can be used as input in a constellation such as wanting to make a choice or reaching a goal. The advantage of working with constellations is that ratio and feelings are separated and this way insight can be gained quickly and efficiently. Gaining insight is the first step towards the desired change.
Constellations during one on one sessions
(Family) constellations during one on one sessions offer virtually the same possibilities as working with real people but we work with smaller elements on a table. More about working with real people (representatives) in constellations can be found in the family constellation part under workshops.
